THE EPIC · New for 2027

The Dirty Reiver EPIC

The Dirty Reiver as you know it, but longer. For 2027 we introduce a new 280km Epic option, for pairs only – marking a new chapter in the history of the UK’s favourite gravel event. Start before dawn. Ride together. Conquer the wildest Border roads before joining the Dirty Reiver 200 route and taking on the full event as a pair.

Two riders. One team. One EPIC journey.

Who it's for

Something EPIC on the Horizon

New for 2027 for those who want that ‘extra’ Dirty Reiver Challenge.

Unlike many ultra-distance events, the Epic is not about disappearing into the wilderness alone with nothing but a GPX file and a long day ahead. This event is completed in pairs, and while the opening kilometres deliver a true sense of exploration and adventure, riders remain part of the wider Dirty Reiver experience from start to finish.

The route

Terrain & Elevation Overview

This new event takes teams across the wider area to previously unused forests and deep into Scotland. A 280km Dirty Reiver challenge for those with experience who have completed similar distances, or multiple 200km events in the past.

A remote pre-dawn start sees riders navigating their way south into new territory with a feed station deep in the forest. A border crossing follows on the return towards Kielder before pairs join the fully supported and signed 200km route just after it has started.

The journey concludes in the heart of a bustling event village, alongside other riders for some well earned refreshment. A shuttle bus will be on hand during the day to take riders back to vehicles – you can then come back and watch the other riders return.

Working together as a team to support each other throughout will be important and completion a real ultra distance achievement.

Predominantly fast-rolling gravel on the forest access network, with remote sections. Routes may change with weather and forestry work; the GPX is published two to three weeks before the event via Ride with GPS.
