Dirty Sixty Fiver
All the vibe of the longer events with a little less pedalling — a perfect first gravel event or one for those wanting an easier day. The 65km route tackles some of the early stages of the longer routes so a chance to experience the full event over a shorter distance.
Beginner-Friendly Gravel Ride
A great introduction to gravel. Are you comfortable on an off-road bike and happy to test your self reliance skills? Maybe new to the sport or just want a relaxing ride? If so, this is a great place to start. All the fun and social side of the gravel scene within the iconic Dirty Reiver atmosphere, plus, of course our Gravel Expo to browse over the weekend.

- Interested in a friendly, beginner‑level gravel experience with vibrant event village
Terrain & Elevation Overview
The ‘Dirty Sixty Fiver’ is still a great days challenge and takes in some of the best sections of gravel riding in the Borders. Initially sharing the route with the longer distance, riders have a chance to join in with the bigger event vibe.
After a crossing of the iconic Kielder Dam the 65km takes a shorter route along the side of the lake to the feed station and a well earned break. All on gently rolling, well surfaced trails.
From here the route rejoins the longer course and again a chance to meet other riders. The course split soon follows and a series of flatter trails lead back to the event village.
Predominantly fast-rolling gravel on the forest access network, with remote sections. 2027 routes may change with weather and forestry work; the GPX is published two to three weeks before the event via Ride with GPS.
